My 52nd Completed Quilt

This is the last quilt, to meet my goal. And it is the last week of the year.  Actually posting on the last day of the year,  before going out to dance. This one is a UFO, about 3 + years old. It was all done but sewing on the binding. I saw a similar quilt in a quilt store. Mine wasn't as nice, and botched some of the quilting. I'm sure that's why I sat it  aside.  Done now.

My 51st quilt

Another bear quilt that I finished christmas day.

My 50th Quilt

I started working on this quilt and # 52 week of Christmas and finished both christmas  day.  One of the first quilts that I ever made was a twin quilt with a bear in the bed and it was between 2 dinosaurs. I have made several baby quilts with just the bear, but not in a long time. I revivedthe pattern  for a coworkers whose new grandson was just born and was named Bear.
I discovered that the yellow fabric had some small holes in it after has i started quilting it.  Hence the toy bear I appliqued over them.  I actually done this on the long arm frame.  That was a nice save.

My 49th Quilt

Or My tree skirt. I wanted something quick to make. I don't have a tree skirt and because the tree is kind empty this  year. (We are doing  a mid winter family trip for christmas instead of presents.), the tree needed the extra decor. With this one done, I'm  only a week behind and only 3 quilts short of my goal. Next year my goal will be to clean my house.  Ì don't think I'll be posting about that goal.

My 48th Quilt

This quilt is called Tree Bells and is another UFO. I started this one 2 years ago and put it up because I had other christmas things to do. I had completed  the prep work and about a 1/3 of the applique done before I quit.  So it's finally finished.

My 47th Quilt

This was actually finished the first of October.  I was going on a week end trip and quickly made them one up to try  up with my goal.

My 46th Quilt

This is s paper pieced quilt. The pattern is called Enough Elephants and is an internet download.

My 45th Completed Quilt

Another UFO: an eye spy quilt. I'm not sure when I  started this one (greater than 5 years ago,) or why I sat it aside half quilted and then misplaced it.  I suspect that I needed my sewing machine for something else.  This was the 5th eye spy quilt that I had made. So in my quest to complete my challenge,  another UFO is no longer an UFO.

My 44th Quilt

I completed this quilt in October. I haven't posted this one because it was a gift for a Co worker. (Also,  I'm just behind posting). I found all the components on the Internet looking at the lovely quilts there. My friend had shown me s store quilt that had a tree, owl and a fox and ask if I could do that. This is my version.

My 43rd Completed Quilt

A Winnie the Pool baby quilt. This is another UFO, I found while I was cleaning for Thanksgiving. It was almost completely finished. The binding was on the quilt and only needed to be sewn down. I don't know when I made it. ...more than 5 years ago. It could be dated by the design. The twist block was new when I made it. I can see that I have improved my skills since I started this one.

My 42nd Quilt

This is the quilt before the minkie giraffe quilt. The minkie giraffe fabric is the backing for this quilt. This is for my niece's baby that will be here after the first of the year.

My 41st Quilt

I bought this kit at the quilt show in Paducah this year.  Theirs was  originally a wall hanging.  I bought a little extra fabric to make it a lap size quilt. I decided that I liked it so much when i began making it that, I had to order more to make it queen size for my room.

My 40th Quilt

I have a few quilts that I still need to post. This one is a minkie. The giraffe fabric is what a used as the back of another giraffe quilt.  Then I used some of the left overs and other minkie scraps to make this one.

37th Completed Quilt

This year I set a goal to finish a quilt a week. The aim is to practice long arming and use some of the fabric that I have amassed over the years.  I have a go to quick baby quilt that I should have made,  but I decided to try something  different.  Over all I think it was a fail,  but this is my last quilt to date.  I am working on a really nice quilt fior my bedroom. I am still on target. I think though I might need to give up soon. My house is a wreck.
On 2nd thought,  I think the quilt needs an applique on the right side. I'll have to think about it.

My 36th Quilt

I found this scrap rail fence on the Internet and unfortunately I don't remember where, so I am unable to give the creator of this quilt pattern credit. If any one knows the creator, I'll be glad to credit . It was a fun quilt to make.

My 35th Quilt

I have been working on 2 quilts simultaneously. One had to be put aside while waiting on a fabric package to arrive.  The other is a scrap quilt that I thought would be simple. However,  the piecing requires more forethought than I had anticipated. I realized that I was lagging behind in my goal, so I made a quick quilt from fabric on hand.  My go to quick quilt for a baby gift. I am now sign on target.

My 34th Quilt

Another UFO, this has sat in my sewing room partially hand quilted for about 10 years.  I think I didn't like the back is the reason I stopped quilting it.  I took it on a rode trip in July and finished the quilting. This past week end I finished the binding on another road trip.

My 33rd completed quilt

The fabrics for the top all came from my stash. I did buy the backing. I suppose that I could have, and should have use my fabric stash, but nothing seemed to right to me at the time.  This is a baby quilt for a Co worker.

My 32nd Quilt

This is my Bricks in the Barnyard that I completed today.

31st Completed Quilt

This is a small quilt for a challenge.  I decided that I would replicate my 7 year old grandson's drawing for the challenge.  I had to use specific colors and this is the reason I changed the colors from the original drawing. He likes it.

30th Completed Quilt

This was an unplanned little quilt prompted by taking my grand daughter with me to the quilt store. She really wanted Duke and Max fabric to make a quilt.  The deal was she was going to do it with my help.
She did  piece part of the top with my assistance. I wanted her to try quilting with my long arm,  but she lacked the confidence to try.

My 28th Completed.Quilt

This is a repeat of a quilt that I made a couple weeks ago: Minecraft.  The first was for my 7 year old grandson.  When my 4 year grand son saw the blocks, he would  ask to see them every time he came over. I just had to make one for him, too.  I sewed along with: Minecraft Monday Sew Along to make both of the quilts.  She had great tutorials.

My 29th Completed Quilt

Or My Row by Row Experience 2016. Last year was my first Row by Row. I had every intention of being the first to bring in my quilt to my local quilt shop, but that didn't happen.  I decided that I would have to take vacation the first week of Row by Row to meet that goal.  So this year, I realized that I would be doing some traveling and changed my goal: I set my goal to making a row from 8 different states.
We took the grand kids to Disney and along the way I got Florida and Georgia and then my home state of Tennessee. Then we visited an uncle in Wisconsin and on the way I also picked up Kentucky, Illinois too.  Then we crossed the border țo Minnesota where I picked up 2 more rows: 8 rows and 7 states.
Last Saturday while visiting my local quilt shop (Stitchers Playhouse),  I learned that no one had brought a quilt in yet. So I started stitching  on Sunday and I finished this morning.  I took my quilt to the shop.  Unfortunately, a quilt was brought in yesterday.  However,  I got a consolation prize.  A nice jellyroll. I feel like I accomplished my goal. Thank you Stitchers Playhouse.
I called my husband to tell him I didn't win,  but I got a jelly roll as a consolation.  He responded, "Save me slice"

My 27th Completed Quilt

I finished this one last week. It is an old UFO. Probably 10 years old.  I have used it at Christmas time to cover a chair that held my small Christmas tree.  I had not quilted it though.  So when I was trying to decide what to work on next,  I saw it in my closet. This was perfect.  I am trying to complete a quilt a week and this almost completed quilt got me back on track.

My 26th Competed Quilt

This quilt is for my grandson's birthday which is the 7th. He will be 8. I also have blocks made for a second Minecraft quilt for my 4 year old grandson.  I have been sewing along with the Minecraft Monday Sew Along to make these quilts.  If you are interested in making a Minecraft quilt. You should check it out.http://thatlookslikeitneedsstitches.blogspot.com/p/minecraft-sew-along.html?m=1.   Kelli s  tutorials are easy to follow.

My 25th Completed Quilt

This is from my scraps. You can see I ran out of zebra.

My 24th Completed Quilt

Completed this one last week.  It's another quick quilt from my stash.  I bought this fabric a couple of years ago. The Mickey Mouse theme is perfect since I finished this before leaving to go to Disney World.

My 23rd Completed Quilt

I made this quilt this past week.  I don't know the name of the pattern, but it is from the Row by Row Experience 2015. My quilt was a kit from Stitchers Playhouse. I'm hanging it in my sewing room.

My 22nd Quilt

This Poinsettia wall hanging is a real old UFO. Maybe 15 years old.  At the time I had made 4 of these wall hangings.  I completed 3 of them and gave them as gifts.  I guess I just never had a home for this one. I'm trying to complete a quilt each week, and being a little behind....I quilted this one.  I finished the last 2 quilts this past week end and making my goal on target.

My 21st Quilt

This is a small rail fence baby quilt.  I finished this top a few years ago.  I had made a Princess quilt by Army Bradley for my granddaughter.   I used the scraps from that project to make the rail fence quilt top.

My 20th Quilt

This baby quilt is a panel with serveral borders that I finished last week. I'm trying to complete a quilt, and I think I  should actually be on my 22nd quilt this week.  I have a couple of quilt tops that I made a few years ago.  A wall hanging and a baby quilt.  I hope to finish those this week end to get back on track.

My 19 the quilt

I saw this quilt on paducah at the quilt show.  It's called Rolly.  The original had a black scarf,  but I thought a red tone would be good.  It's 50 x 76 inches.

The 18th quilt

Last week's quilt was finished today.  The pattern is called 9 birds. I call my version: 9 Birds  Extended. I wanted a larger quilt,  so I added another row of 3 more birds.

My 17th quilt

This is a miniature quilt,  23 x24 inches. I had visions of making several of these for  gifts. After making the center area, I decided that making tiny quilts was not my thing. I  was so traumatized that I put it down a couple years ago. I added the borders and  finished it this week.  I have a goal of completing a quilt a week this year.  I have been out of town for the past 3 weeks.  The last 2 UFO s helped me stay on track with my goal.

PS I really admire those who make miniature quilts.

My 16th completed quilt

This is the quilt that I completed last week.  I completed the spaceship baby quilt top a couple years ago, but I needed to find the backing. It was just a matter of taking it with me when I shopped.  I kept forgetting, and then the quilt was forgotten.  Not anymore.  The backing is a red tone on tone with a swirly pattern.
